What a fun day today. Went to Shadowood and saw “Woman In Gold” (really terrific by the way) and then went looking for some comfort food. I had a coupon for Sweet Dewey’s BBQ that made the place seem friendly and tasty, but we had never been there. We found it in the Rooms-To-Go shopping center on Glades and I sent Bob in to check it out and get a take-out menu.
Well he came out grinning from ear-to-ear, saying that the barbeque aroma is so irresistible that we just had to give it a try. He sure was right on about the aroma, just open the door and you’re back home in Birmingham. And it was all better than good.
We had a wings appetizer and they were delicious and served with real blue cheese dressing. You know, the kind with real blue cheese lumps in it. I had baby back ribs and Bob had beef ribs (guess why) and they both were falling off the bone tender. I swear that’s the best barbeque I ever had.
We chatted with Dewey on our way out. He was sitting outside at a sidewalk table. (think Frank Underwood at his hide-away barbeque place in House of Cards). Anyway we had a nice chat and told him we would do a Facebook comment for him.
It’s just good eatin’ at Dewey’s. We had fun, got messy, ate too much and still took some samples home.
Gotta go back soon 🙂
